The Coronado National Forest, Sky Islands Children’s Forest is hosting an event in Sabino Canyon on January 26.
Children ages 10 to 16, who are interested are invited to join the Sky Islands Children’s Forest Leadership Team. Participants should meet in front of the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center (5700 N. Sabino Canyon Road) at 9 a.m.

Team members will learn about public land management, assist in decision making regarding children’s forest projects, and offer their ideas for developing the children’s forest.
Participants at the event will take part in not only leadership skill development, but a Sabino Canyon plant and animal identification, and a creosote bush seed collection, that will be set aside for a future children’s forest project. As well as conducting a biological analysis project. The event is expected to last one hour.
Participants are asked to RSVP to Shari Ketcham by January 19 at (520) 749-7701 or sketcham02@fs.fed.us .
