"Gospel Without Borders" documentary to be screened | Events
Border issues continue to be a prominent topic of discussion in our state. The mission statement of St. Philip’s Border & Immigration Ministry calls for the group to offer transformative educational opportunities that encourage compassionate responses to the needs of immigrants, as well as joining the larger community in advocating for humane and just resolution of the immigration crisis. Accordingly, the Border & Immigration Ministry will be showing the documentary "Gospel Without Borders" on Sunday, May 12, at 10:15 a.m. in the West Gallery at St. Philip's.
“Gospel Without Borders” brings more light and less heat to the issue of immigration. It separates myth from fact, examines what the Bible says about treatment of the “stranger,” shows the experiences of documented and undocumented immigrants, and provides handles for Christians to advance the common good. This documentary highlights stories that break the heart and others that inspire the spirit. Still others challenge the mind. All show that the Christian gospel is indeed without borders.
We’ll view the 31 minute cut followed by a guided discussion. You may view a trailer at http://vimeo.com/27823595.
