Family caregiver support group hosts special speaker | Events
St. Philip's In The Hills Episcopal Church offers a support group for family caregivers on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. On Wednesday, May 15, there will be a special presentation on caregiver wellness by Dr. Nancy Aton. Dr. Aton will discuss the importance of "caring for the caregiver" and will address questions relating to communicating with your doctor, maintaining your energy, the importance of nutrition, helpful natural remedies, and more.
Dr. Aton is a graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, has been in practice for 30 years and a participant in Dr. Andrew Weil's Program for Integrative Medicine for the past 10 years, and is past president of the Arizona Naturopathic Medical Association. She is expert in preventing and treating disease and passionate about health.
All family caregivers are invited to attend this helpful session. There is no charge. RSVP is requested to Shannon Reed at 305-3413 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
St. Philip’s Family Caregiver Support Group began in September 2009 and is a collaboration between Pima Council on Aging and St. Philip's. There is no cost to attend this drop-in group. It is open to any family caregiver who needs a safe place to share highs and lows, struggles and successes, as well as to learn about resources, ask questions, and develop coping skills. The Rev.
