Road to Mt. Lemmon closed this morning | News
Catalina Highway is closed this morning, except to residents and employees of Mt. Lemmon.
The restrictions don’t stop there though, four wheel drive or chains are required even for them.
By five p.m. yesterday, according to a PCSD deputy stationed at Mt. Lemmon, there was already an inch of snow.
Deputies want to strike a balance, keeping the roads open so folks can get up to the mountains and Mt. Lemmon, but doing so safely is the biggest priority.
The Mt. Lemmon fire district has said they are geared up, ready to help any stranded drivers, but of course also hoping that those same drivers won’t need the help.
